Offer description

Summary

You’ll assist in the delivery and development of a programme of activities and events. This may include helping create, install and maintain trails, as well as engaging with visitors and leading activities.

By doing so, you’ll help to create an enjoyable experience for everyone that visits Kedleston & Sudbury and help them understand more about our places.

Salary: £25,837.5 per year

Contract/duration: Permanent

Hours/working pattern: 37.5 hours per week. The working pattern for this role may vary according to programming plans at each property, and may include occasional evening working as well as weekends and bank holidays.

Interview Date: Week Commencing 20th April

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here

Working within two property Visitor Experience teams to create, lead and maintain programming activities, you’ll be working with staff and volunteers to deliver regular engagement opportunities for visitors. As two large properties, both Kedleston and Sudbury welcome families and walkers, as well as art and history enthusiasts looking to learn more and take part. You'll report to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Kedleston Hall, but split your time across both properties, working with your counterparts at Sudbury as well. You may also work with house and outdoors teams to develop activities which link back to the work we do, and the collections we care for. You'll have the opportunity to be creative and hands on, and learn to programme for different audiences, as well as evaluate planned activities.

Kedleston Hall is around 6 miles outside of central Derby, and Sudbury around 15 miles from Derby. It is approximately 15 miles from Kedleston to Sudbury.

What you'll be doing

Working with the staff and volunteers, you'll help create and deliver events and activities across both properties throughout the year. Supporting with preparation and planning, install and maintenance, you'll be hands on at both properties to provide relevant and robust creative programming. You'll also be leading activities, events and workshops which form foundational or seasonal programming offers.

You’ll monitor quality and deliver high standards of presentation on site and while maintaining clear and consistent communications with our visitors around the property. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. You’ll help link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
