Account Manager (Ecommerce)

Company: Fluid Commerce
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
Travel: Quarterly team meetups in Manchester + occasional client meetings

We partner with ambitious small to mid-market businesses to drive growth through strategy, technology, and optimisation.


The Role

We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Account Manager to join our Client Services team. You will act as the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of ecommerce clients, becoming an extension of their internal team and helping them achieve their growth objectives.

This role blends relationship management, ecommerce strategy, and project coordination. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and enjoys driving measurable results for clients.


Key Responsibilities


Client Management & Communication

* Manage day-to-day relationships with ecommerce clients, acting as an extension of their internal team
* Lead regular client status calls (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on client needs)
* Monitor and manage client retainer hours, ensuring work stays within scope while identifying opportunities for additional revenue
* Conduct quarterly performance reviews and strategic planning sessions
* Develop a deep understanding of each client's business goals, challenges, and competitive landscape
* Ensure clear and effective communication between clients and internal delivery teams
* Participate in internal monthly client reviews, reporting on performance, risks, and relationship health


Strategy & Growth

* Develop and execute ecommerce growth strategies across acquisition, retention, and conversion
* Analyse performance using tools such as GA4 and ecommerce platform dashboards
* Identify opportunities to scale revenue and improve customer experience
* Collaborate with internal specialists across Paid Media, SEO, Email/CRM, and CRO
* Present clear, data-driven recommendations and strategic roadmaps to clients


Performance & Reporting

* Produce monthly client reports outlining activity, performance, and progress
* Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations
* Clearly communicate results and next steps to both technical and non-technical stakeholders


Project & Delivery Management

* Gather and define client requirements to create clear, actionable briefs
* Produce change control documentation outlining scope, deliverables, and associated costs
* Coordinate internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
* Oversee website launches, updates, and optimisation initiatives
* Provide client training on platform features and functionality where required


Commercial Responsibility

* Contribute to revenue forecasting and account planning
* Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing client accounts
* Support new business pitches and proposals where relevant


About You

Essential:

* Experience in an account management role within an ecommerce agency or client-side ecommerce manager
* Experience working with Magento, Adobe Commerce and Shopify
* Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and digital marketing channels
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Commercial awareness with the ability to identify growth opportunities
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients

Desirable:

* Familiarity with GA4 and other analytics/reporting tools
* Experience working with B2B and/or D2C ecommerce brands
