Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Body Electronics System Engineer to be based at our customer’s site in Oxford.
Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.
The Role:
We are looking for a Body Electronics Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of body electronics systems within ePowertrain platforms. This role involves working on system-level requirements, interface definitions, and validation of body control modules and related subsystems.
Area of Responsibility
1. Develop and define system requirements for body electronics features such as lighting, HVAC, wipers, windows, and central locking.
2. Support the integration of body control modules (BCMs) and related ECUs into the vehicle electrical architecture.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compatibility and seamless operation of body electronics systems.
4. Assist in the development of interface control documents (ICDs) and signal definitions.
5. Support validation and verification activities including functional testing and diagnostics.
6. Ensure compliance with automotive standards, functional safety (ISO 26262), and cybersecurity requirements.
7. Coordinate with suppliers for component specifications, integration, and issue resolution.
8. Maintain system documentation and support BOM creation and updates for body electronics components.
Knowledge / Experience
·Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering.
·Experience in body electronics system development, preferably in EV or hybrid platforms.
·Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, body control modules, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
·Experience in system integration, diagnostics, and validation processes.
·Familiarity with automotive standards and functional safety principles.
·Good communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
