Permanent
NHS Fife
Specialist nurse
Posted: 18 August
Offer description

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced registered nurses to join our Gastroenterology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patients, their families and carers from diagnosis through treatment and future planning.

We are a team of eleven clinical nurse specialists, one pathway navigator and are supported by our admin team. We work alongside eight Gastroenterology consultants, surgeons, ward ANP, specialist dietician and pharmacist.

The role will include working closely with the multi-disciplinary team as well as delivering a nurse led service for patients both in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

The post holder should be flexible to the needs of the service and have Gastroenterology knowledge, able to demonstrate a commitment to personal development/education/learning and leading person centred, safe and effective care.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
