Job Description

I am pleased to be working with a market-leading service provider, as they look for a procurement assistant to join their busy team! This is a full-time, permanent role and is located in Skelmersdale.

Benefits:

* Salary - £25,000 to £26,000
* Working hours – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (No weekends!)
* Holidays – 20 days, plus 8 Bank Holidays. The company also an additional five days holiday on top of this (please ask for more information!)

Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will provide valuable support to the wider procurement team by way of responding and handling supplier enquiries. They will understand supplier needs and be able to provide solutions to issues that may arise. A driving licence is required for this role as regular visits to suppliers will take place.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

* Respond to supplier enquiries professionally and promptly, processing orders and managing issues as and when
* Make comparisons on prices and quality from approved suppliers
* Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract files
* Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, pricing, and queries

Specification:

* Previous experience within a similar procurement, supply chain or purchase role is preferred
* Previous experience working within a busy office environment as part of a team is essential
* A clear communicator, both written and verbal
* Experience working with MS Office (including Excel)
* Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence
