Alken Engineering LTD is seeking a Fabricator / Welder to join our established team. We are an ISO 9001:2015 accredited subcontract manufacturing business situated in Birch Vale, Derbyshire. Alken Engineering are a busy sub-contract engineering business supplying goods into various sectors. Our specialities include Manual and CNC Turning, Manual and CNC Milling, Fitting/Assembly, Sheet Metal, Fabrication and Welding. Main duties MIG and TIG welding of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Using metal cutting and forming machinery and hand tools Training will be provided. Training will be provided to enable you to manufacture bespoke fabrications from detailed engineering drawings, including welding and finishing to company procedures and codings. You will be encouraged to be a team player and provide feedback on problem solving and suggestions on improvements for manufacture. Person Specification Time Served in a recognised training program, or hands on work experience. Experience of welding and fabricating of some thicknesses within the typical range of 2mm to 20mm in Mild Steel and Stainless Steel. Proficiency in the use of MIG and TIG. Have a good fabrication knowledge with understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings. Have an excellent attention to detail, and a flexible attitude towards problem solving and the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods. Have a pleasant and positive manner, take pride in your work, and enjoy working to high standards of accuracy and surface finish.
