Legacy Network Architect Birmingham (4 days on-site) | Full-time | SC Eligible
We’re partnering with a major consultancy on a mission-critical role for a Legacy Network Architect to support a high-impact telecoms transformation programme. Based on-site in Birmingham, this role offers a rare opportunity to work hands-on with heritage telecoms infrastructure – essential to enabling the long-term shift from circuit to packet-based networks.
Lead the analysis, design, and transition of legacy telecoms infrastructure, supporting the migration from traditional circuit-switched technology.
• Work extensively on-site in a dedicated lab environment to test, simulate, and validate system behaviours – developing practical solutions where documentation and online resources are no longer available.
• Collaborate with wider network engineering and architecture teams to ensure continuity of service and performance during technology transition.
• Deliver in-depth technical investigations, performance analysis, and support the end-client’s transformation programme.
Solid, hands-on background in legacy telecoms networks, including circuit-switched systems and packet conversion (circuit-to-packet).
• Comfortable working in a lab-based role, building solutions from the ground up.
• Car Allowance: £6,000
• Bonus: 10%
