An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Nurse to join the Clinical Haematology General Team.
As a General Haematology Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients with a wide range of haematological conditions. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver care that promotes the health and wellbeing of patients.
This role involves working within inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory day ward settings. The successful candidate will assess patients, plan, deliver, and monitor the care and management of patients with general haematological conditions.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing expert clinical nursing care to patients with haematological conditions.
2. Assessing patient needs, developing, and implementing care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
3. Administering treatments including blood transfusions, iron infusions, and other haematological therapies.
4. Offering patient education and support regarding treatment options, self-management strategies, and lifestyle changes.
5. Monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary, ensuring evidence-based practices are followed.
6. Leading in coordinating complex patient cases and acting as a point of contact for patients and families.
7. Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
8. Mentoring and supporting junior nursing staff to promote professional development and high standards of patient care.
9. Participating in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement projects.
