Job Description Social Worker
Who we are
For-Families is a Parenting Assessment Centre based in Bognor Regis West Sussex.
We provide a safe environment where parents can stay with their children, in order to learn and develop parenting skills.
Parents are provided with support and opportunity to explore past trauma, previous addiction and mental health issues. Staff work alongside the parent to evidence their capacity to safely parent their children independently now and throughout their minority.
About the role
At For-Families, we recognise some of our parents have suffered trauma and therefore their behaviours can at times be challenging, as a Social Worker we would expect you to manage challenging behaviours in a professional, supportive manner, whilst ensuring the safety and well-being of other families and children within the centre.
You will have the following key responsibilities
* Promote Social Work ethics and values
* Case responsibility for a maximum of 5 families
* Contribute to the pre-admissions
* Write weekly and final reports which are evidence and theory based
* Facilitate placement planning and review meetings
* Ensure all Safeguarding policies and practice are followed and report suspicions of abuse or potential abuse and any allegation or of a vulnerable person to an immediate manager.
* Complete comprehensive risk assessments and weekly, mid-point and final parenting reports.
* Contribute to staff learning and groupwork
* Work within the statutory and legislative framework for Residential Family Centres as per the OFSTED Regulations and develop a comprehensive understanding of National Minimum Standards for Residential Family Centres
As a Social Worker there are a few must haves
* Recognised Social Work Qualification
* Registered with Social Work England
* Ability to manage complex issues and behaviours
* Ability to identify and manage risk
* Good communication skills are essential
* IT literacy
* An ability to work well within a multi-agency service
* Experience in working with, domestic violence, substance misuse, learning disabilities would be an added advantage
