Location: Fully Remote (UK-based) with travel expectations

Salary: £55,000 – £100,000

About the Company

My client is a leading Canadian-based medical cannabis brand and supply chain company founded over three years ago by two experienced cannabis industry professionals. After spending a couple years inside large, complex cannabis organizations as employees— and seeing first-hand the politics, bottlenecks, and broken systems — they decided to come together and build something better.


Their vision was simple: to create a lean, specialist business that actually made medical cannabis supply chains work. One that focused on reliability, speed, and strategic value — without the bureaucracy.


The business started by helping international distributors secure high-quality Canadian flower via their trusted network of cultivators. They specialized in white-label products and building stable, long-term supply chains — quickly becoming a go-to partner for companies entering or expanding in regulated medical cannabis markets.At the same time, they worked on the flip side of the supply chain — helping Canadian cultivators and brands export their products into new international markets by leveraging their network of distribution partners, regulatory expertise, and on-the-ground market insight.


Their work included launching major brands — including supporting Curaleaf’s entry into the Australian market — as well as helping scale white-label programs across Europe.

After seeing huge success in Australia with white-label SKUs, my client decided to launch their own brand of flowers and vapes in Australia— and the response exceeded expectations.

Now, they’re bringing that momentum to the UK. Backed by a proven supply chain and a product already tested in one of the world’s most competitive medical cannabis markets, my client is ready to scale their own brand of medical cannabis products in the UK, including flowers, oils & vapes.


They’re hiring a Head of Sales to take full ownership of brand growth in the UK — working across private clinics, pharmacies, patients, and healthcare professionals to build awareness, drive adoption, provide education and establish the brand as a category leader. They currently have 6 full time employees including the founders with over 5-10 external consultants/contractors, and therefore we are looking for people comfortable to work in a small team, and hands on. Although they are a lean team, they are well established, with the company currently doing 8 figures in revenue.


The Opportunity

My client has secured a distribution agreement with one of the UK’s leading medical cannabis distributors — Curaleaf — to bring its branded products to market.

As part of this partnership, they’re now hiring a Head of Sales to act as an embedded commercial lead for the UK market working closely with Curaleaf’s internal teams to grow product adoption across their existing network of clinics, pharmacies, and prescribers.

This is a dual role:

* Around 80% of your time will be focused on account management, education, brand positioning & relationship building within Curaleaf’s established network
* The remaining 20% will be focused on new business development — identifying and onboarding new distribution partners, clinics/pharmacies and wholesalers outside of that network


This is a senior position with full autonomy to build and execute the UK sales strategy for my client’s brand — starting with their primary distribution partner, Curaleaf, and expanding into other leading medical cannabis distributors, clinics, and pharmacies.

A key part of the role is focused on HCP engagement, training, and education — particularly within Curaleaf’s extensive network of prescribers, clinics, and pharmacies. You’ll work closely with their commercial and medical teams to increase product confidence, drive throughput, and build long-term prescribing relationships.


The role is fully remote and highly self-directed. You’ll have support from the Canadian HQ team, but the UK strategy and day-to-day execution will be yours to lead. This is an environment built for someone who performs best with independence — planning their own schedule, setting their own tactics, and driving measurable outcomes without daily oversight.

Your mandate is simple: make the brand the go-to value option for prescribers within Curaleaf’s network, and then expand its presence across the wider UK market into other medical cannabis distributors, clinics, pharmacies. For this role you will report into the founders of the business.

Working Environment/Culture

The role is remote, self-directed, and highly entrepreneurial — ideal for someone who wants to take full ownership of a fast-growing product line and turn it into a market leader.

This is a results-focused environment with zero micromanagement. The client isn’t interested in how many hours you sit at your desk — if you get the job done in five hours, great. What matters here is Results, ownership, and maturity.

We’re looking for someone who is professional and competent, who can manage their own time, build their own systems, and take control without needing constant check-ins or hand-holding. You’ll have support from the wider team, but this isn’t a role where someone’s chasing you every day. It’s more like running your own business within a business, and therefore we are looking for people who are comfortable with that mindset.

If you're someone who thrives in structured, heavily managed environments, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you’re a self-starter who wants autonomy, flexibility, and full ownership of your work, the ability to make decisions and not be micromanaged — this could be the perfect place for you. The client truly is offering something quite unique.

Because of that autonomy, experience in the medical cannabis space is non-negotiable. We need someone who already understands the market and can hit the ground running from day one


Key Responsibilities

* Design and implement a national sales strategy for our client’s medical cannabis brand in the UK
* Lead physician outreach and education via in-person meetings, webinars, and clinical sessions
* Work closely with Curaleaf’s commercial, marketing, and HCP teams to grow product throughput and visibility
* Oversee the launch and expansion of multiple branded product lines (flower, vapes, gummies)
* Identify and secure listings with additional UK distributors, particularly prescribing and dispensing platforms (Clinics/Pharmacies/Distros)
* Represent the brand at conferences, medical events, and educational forums
* Coordinate with Canadian operations on product planning, inventory, and performance reporting


What We're Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

* You must have experience in the Medical Cannabis Industry in the UK and have a strong understanding of the market.
* Familiarity with the UK medical cannabis ecosystem and major players such as Cureleaf, Sapphire, Lyphe etc.
* Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the UK as needed
* Strategic mindset — able to build a sales program from scratch and execute on it
* Ability to provide training and education to Healthcare Professionals in a non-promotional environment
* Excellent relationship-building and account development skills
* Strong sales/commercial mindset.
* Confident public speaker, comfortable leading medical education sessions. Strong Written and Verbal
* CRM Experience / Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
* Excellent presentation and communication skills with both physicians and business stakeholders- able to convey medical and commercial information clearly.
* Bonus points of previous MSL experience
* Bonus points for passing the APBI exam
* Bonus points of previous experience providing training to healthcare professionals in cannabis or out.


Working Style & Structure

* Fully Remote, self-managed work model.
* 40 hours per week, flexible scheduling – Manage your own time.
* Travel: Ability to travel across the UK as needed.


Compensation

* Base salary: £55,000 – £100,000 + bonus depending on experience (Open to junior & Senior)
* Vehicle allowance
* Performance-based bonuses



Bonuses/Commission


Once the target is maintained for 8 weeks:

Weekly sales

1,000 units +£5,000 bonus

2,000 units +£12,500 bonus

3,000 units +£17,500 bonus


Example - Across 8 weeks, the company sells 8,000 units in the UK, including sales through Curaleaf. You would get a £5,000 bonus paid straight away or at the next pay slip, for having an average of 1,000 Units weekly. If you now increase the sales 8,000 to 16,000 units over the next 8 weeks, so the average order is now 2,000 units per week across 8 weeks, you would get £12,500 as a bonus.
