Overview
Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is offering a Consultant Psychiatrist position to work on the EDU ward. The role is full time (37.5 hours) and site based, with a salary of £170,000 per year. HCPC registration and GMC registration with Specialist Register are required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding clinical care to patients referred to the hospital, ensuring they receive compassionate, evidence‑based treatment tailored to their individual needs.
- Take clinical responsibility for a defined patient caseload, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, reviews, strategic care planning and the development of a safe, therapeutic, recovery‑focused environment.
- Serve as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983, providing clinical leadership, ensuring high standards of care, governance and legal compliance.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing effectively to assessment, formulation, treatment planning and patient management.
- Provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, supporting high‑quality, recovery‑focused, patient‑centred care.
Qualifications
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and licence to practise, with inclusion on the relevant Specialist Register.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) or an internationally recognised equivalent qualification in the relevant psychiatry specialty.
- Demonstrable experience within inpatient mental health services, providing care and treatment for individuals with complex and severe mental health needs.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making and risk management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinical environment.
