Job Overview

This is an exciting time to join Mitie's Engineering sales team. As part of the Mitie Group sales function, you will play a key role in supporting growth for our £1.8bn Engineering Division. We are looking for a dynamic, tenacious and results driven Solutions Director, with a growth mindset. You will deliver results taking projects from cradle (first contact) to grave, handing over winning bids to your operational colleagues and potentially assisting them in developing organic growth opportunities if appropriate. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in technical sales in both private and public sector, someone who can proactively identify, approach, solution and win net new business as well as working alongside the operational teams to support in retention activities.


Main Duties

* Pipeline & Revenue Growth - Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities within the Engineering Division, leveraging market insights, client relationships, and industry partnerships to identify and prioritise prospects.
* Support the delivery against a new business sales target of £120 mil ACV.
* Develop and execute sales initiatives to build a robust pipeline across targeted sectors.
* Drive proactive business development activities, from reactive tendering to become a market-leading consultative sales operation.
* Implement and maintain rigorous pipeline management processes using Salesforce.com, ensuring accurate forecasting and real-time visibility of opportunities.
* Identify and penetrate new market sectors, with particular focus on high‑value engineering service opportunities.


What we are looking for

* Possess a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the (allocated) sector(s).
* Able to communicate and influence senior‑level/C‑Suite client contacts and maintain positive working relationships.
* Strategic operational management experience and proven track record in technical sales contracts within the private and public sector, to deliver an annual sales target of £5 mil.
* Able to work effortlessly within a matrix style organisation.
