Overview
At the RSPCA, we believe animal welfare is everyone's welfare. Join us in creating a better world for every animal. We can do it if we work together – everyone for every animal. Choose a career with us and make a difference. We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Cattery Supervisor to support the daily operation of our busy cattery at our Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre under the guidance of the Cattery Manager, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, team performance, and customer care. This is a full‑time, permanent role, requiring you to work on a shift basis, including weekends and bank holidays.
Recruitment Process
* Application: Answer a few questions about your experience, skills, and potential. We consider what you can bring to the role.
* Panel Interview: If successful, you will be invited to a panel interview with the Hiring Manager.
* Share what you've done and are proud of.
* Ask questions about the role, the team, and the impact you could make.
* Show off your skills and behaviours in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Daily Responsibilities
You will lead and support a team of Animal Care Assistants and volunteers, overseeing daily tasks, providing coaching, and monitoring performance to maintain excellent standards of care. You will also take responsibility for supporting the smooth running of the cattery, ensuring it remains safe, secure, and well‑maintained, with full adherence to health & safety procedures. Animal welfare will be at the heart of everything you do.
You will carry out non‑veterinary health assessments, monitor the wellbeing of cats in our care, and work closely with veterinary colleagues to ensure treatments are delivered correctly. You will deliver high‑quality husbandry, including feeding, grooming, and supporting behavioural training and socialisation to prepare cats for successful rehoming. You will play a key role in the rehoming journey, acting as a main point of contact for public enquiries, assessing potential adopters, and providing guidance to support responsible ownership.
Alongside this, you will maintain accurate records using our systems and follow financial procedures where required. Maintaining excellent hygiene and disease control standards is essential, including overseeing cleaning and disinfection routines across all areas of the cattery.
What Will Help You Succeed

* Management: Proven management experience with the ability to lead and supervise a team.
* Customer Service: Experience of working with the general public and handling customer enquiries.
