Position Title: Secondary Science Teacher

Reports To: Superintendent/Principal

Position Overview
Alba Public School is seeking a motivated and student-centered Secondary Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging and rigorous science instruction to middle and/or high school students while fostering a positive learning environment that supports academic growth, curiosity, and critical thinking.
Preferred Certification Areas
Candidates with certification in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:
1. Integrated Science
2. Biology
3. Chemistry
4. Physical Science
5. Earth/Space Science
Responsibilities
6. Develop and deliver effective science instruction aligned with Michigan academic standards
7. Create a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom environment
8. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology tools
9. Assess student learning and maintain accurate academic records
10. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
11. Participate in school improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities
12. Maintain appropriate classroom management and student discipline practices
13. Serve as a positive role model for students
Qualifications
14. Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
15. Strong instructional and classroom management skills
16. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
17. Commitment to student achievement and continuous improvement
18. Coaching experience or willingness to assist with extracurricular activities is preferred, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
Salary and benefits will be based on education, experience, and the negotiated master agreement.
