We are ideally looking for a trainee in the early years of their registrar training who can develop their orthopaedic career within this busy, progressive department. The successful applicant's duties will include operating lists, outpatient clinics (elective and fracture) and ward rounds, with responsibilities for the consultant's patients on the wards.
The post holder is also responsible for the supervision of junior doctors in their day-to-day duties. There is ample opportunity for training in this role with full supervision in clinics and theatres. The trainee would not have independent operating lists but plenty of operating lists with consultants and senior colleagues.
The successful applicant would be expected to participate in a 1-in-8 non-resident 24 hour on call rota, attend trauma meetings and present when post call, and participate in regular theatre lists particularly focusing on trauma surgery and NOF fracture surgery under Consultant supervision.
Key responsibilities include:
* Fracture clinic experience
* Regular ward round - supervising the FY2 / SHOs
* Attend the SpR teaching every Wednesday afternoon
