PRU Teaching Assistant – Behaviour and Engagement
Location: South Shields
Pay: £90–£110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: As soon as possible
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work within a Pupil Referral Unit supporting young people who have been excluded or require alternative provision.
This role supports pupils who benefit from smaller class sizes, structure and strong relationships to re-engage with education.
Key responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
• Working 1:1 and in small groups
• Supporting learning activities and engagement
• Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
• Encouraging positive routines and attendance
This role is ideal for someone who:
• Has experience in PRU, SEMH or alternative provision
• Is calm, resilient and consistent
• Can build strong relationships with young people
• Is committed to inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
