Our Manchester pupil referral unit is seeking a committed Primary Teacher to work with vulnerable learners from January 2026. The successful Primary Teacher will be expected to create highly differentiated learning plans, manage complex behaviour positively, and deliver rapid progress for pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings. The Primary Teacher will begin pre-term briefing and planning prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be in post teaching from January 2026. • Primary Teacher required on a full-time basis with a January 2026 start in a Manchester pupil referral unit. • Primary Teacher to join a highly experienced PRU team; pre-term planning and induction begin January 2026. • Primary Teacher role focused on personalised learning, behaviour support and swift re-integration where appropriate from January 2026. School snapshot • Pupil referral unit in Manchester specialising in early intervention, SEMH support and reintegration pathways for primary-aged pupils. • Strong multi-disciplinary team including behaviour specialists, therapists and family support workers to support the Primary Teacher. • A practical, safety-first environment with excellent CPD for trauma-informed practice from January 2026. Primary Teacher Responsibilities The Primary Teacher will lead carefully scaffolded lessons across the primary curriculum as the Primary Teacher; plan bespoke learning sequences as the Primary Teacher; manage behaviour positively and implement individual behaviour plans as the Primary Teacher; liaise with families, agencies and mainstream schools as the Primary Teacher. The Primary Teacher will assess progress, adapt intervention and document impact from the first day after January 2026. Primary Teacher Requirements We are seeking a resilient and reflective Primary Teacher with QTS (or equivalent), recent experience working with vulnerable children and strong behaviour management skills. The Primary Teacher should be confident delivering personalised learning, be committed to multi-agency work and able to start planning before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026.
