The North York Moors National Park Authority helps to care for one of the UKs most distinctive protected landscapes. Spanning 554 square miles, the National Park is home to expansive heather moorland, woodland, remote dales, historic villages and dramatic coastline, and plays an important role in supporting nature, communities and sustainable access for visitors.
We are now looking for a Volunteer Support & Engagement Officer to join us for 22.5 hours per week (ideally working Weds Fri).
The Benefits
- The salary for a 22.5-hour week is in the range £17,120 - £18,860
- 25 days annual leave, rising annually by one day to 30 days after five years service, plus public holidays (pro rata for part-time staff)

The Role
As a Volunteer Support & Engagement Officer, you will support the co-ordination, development and delivery of volunteering activity across the organisation.
Working as part of the wider team, you will help ensure volunteers feel valued, engaged and well supported in their roles, enabling projects and services that rely on volunteer involvement to thrive.
You will help plan and deliver meaningful volunteering opportunities, including task-based activities and individual volunteering projects. You will act as a key point of contact for volunteers and managers, co-ordinate day-to-day volunteering activity and support Volunteer Task Leaders to develop their skills and confidence.
Additionally, you will:
- Deliver volunteer inductions
- Support and encourage the use of digital volunteering tools
- Assist with volunteer communications and Volunteer Hub updates
- Share volunteer stories, successes and opportunities
- Support feedback initiatives, surveys and listening groups
- Work with partner groups to support volunteering activity
About You
To be considered as a Volunteer Support & Engagement Officer, you will need:
- Experience working with volunteers or communities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems
- The ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team
- An understanding of safe working practices
- The ability to manage multiple priorities during busy periods
