You will be expected to provide a compliant, resilient, safe estate and deliver an efficient and cost-effective maintenance service with a focus on Ventilation systems.
Responsible to Principal engineer for ventilation with responsibility for overseeing contractors and in-house engineers delegated under your supervision.
You will act as a specialist on behalf of the Trust for all aspects of Engineering & Building Services with emphasis on Ventilation and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of the engineering infrastructure, systems, and equipment, acting in the role of AP Ventilation.
Responsible for ensuring that engineering maintenance, including contract work, is carried out to the appropriate standard and specification, acting as the Trust Clerk of works and commissioning specialist for site inspections, testing, and commissioning of all new and refurbishment works on both sites.
Main duties of the job
Provide detailed professional and technical estates advice and support to the senior leadership team within Estates, Trust staff, external contractors, and consultants covering issues related to or impacting the delivery of operational services.
Ensure compliance with all Statutory Standards, Codes of Practice, Health and Safety Guidance, Health Technical Memoranda, COSHH, Building Regulations, and NHS Executive Directives relating to Estates Services.
Be a point of escalation for critical ventilation systems, ensuring service continuity, quality, and resilience in areas under your supervision.
Under the direction of the principal engineer, lead on the rectification of faults and defects on critical ventilation systems identified from reports.
Lead troubleshooting efforts on critical ventilation systems and rectify faults.
Provide effective day-to-day support and liaison to the operational estates team and external agencies (contractors) delegated to your area.
Deputise for the principal engineer for ventilation, taking responsibility for decisions, works, budgets, quotations, and people management as necessary.
Create and develop ventilation SOPs and monitor adherence to those delegated under your supervision.
