Kent Cricket Foundation (KCF) is the charitable arm of Kent County Cricket Club (Kent Cricket), formed on 1 November 2025 as the result of the merger of the Kent Cricket Community Trust with the 'Community Cricket Team' of Kent Cricket.
The new structure combines grassroots cricket development with community outreach under a bespoke charitable framework, with KCF assuming responsibility of the regional governing body for recreational cricket across Kent and Southeast London.

By reaching out to those who may feel isolated or disconnected, KCF strives to create spaces where everyone feels welcome, valued, and part of something bigger. KCF’s vision is to create a thriving recreational game that is open to all and for cricket to be a force for good across Kent and Southeast London.
KCF is based at Kent Cricket’s headquarters at The St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, and also operates from Kent Cricket’s satellite venue, The County Ground, Beckenham. KCF is responsible for promoting and developing cricket across the entire county of Kent, including the four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, and Lewisham.
Founded in 1870, Kent Cricket has won every domestic cricket title, playing host to some of the greatest cricketers in the game including current England stars, Tammy Beaumont and Zak Crawley, as well as former club Captain and now Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, Rob Key, and England Women’s Head Coach, Charlotte Edwards.
About the Role
With a clear strategy for the promotion of recreational cricket and community cricket outreach within Kent, KCF is now looking for excellent people to help deliver its exciting 2025-2028 Strategic Plan and to diversify its fundraising and community outreach opportunities. The evolving landscape of cricketing Foundations demands a Board with a broad set of skills. We are currently looking to recruit Trustees to help us with the ambition to create a thriving recreational game, that is open to all, and for cricket to be a force for good across Kent.
To support our ambition, we are recruiting up to four Board appointed Trustees. We are looking for dedicated and collaborative individuals who have understanding and experience in at least one of the following areas:
•Fundraising, individual giving and business development;
•HR, health & wellbeing knowledge and volunteer management;
•Equity and social inclusion;
•Regional or National Sport Organisations and wider sport administration.
As well as being able to demonstrate an interest in KCF’s programmes, candidates will have the passion to ensure that KCF is a champion of equity, inclusivity and diversity, ensuring we remain a force for good, genuinely changing the lives for people of Kent and Southeast London.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for candidates with board-level experience and have the time to attend both board meetings (usually 4 physical meeting per year) as well as contribute to one or more of KCF’s sub-committees (usually 4 meetings per year per sub-committee). We would also like the candidate to attend KCF events and important Kent Cricket events, being an ambassador for the Foundation and meet the various stakeholders associated with both Kent Cricket Foundation and Kent Cricket.
You will be confident in both supporting, and constructively challenging KCF’s Senior Management Team, and willing to step-out of your comfort zone to take an informed view of issues which may not naturally be your area of expertise.
What We Offer
This is a voluntary position, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. You will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a respected sporting institution, influence strategic decisions, and help drive the KCF’s continued success.
Commitment:
The role requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 days per year. Appointments to the Board will be made for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of renewal for two further additional three-year terms (total 9 years).
While in-person Board meetings will take place at Canterbury please note that all meetings will have online joining options and the majority of sub-committee meetings are held online to support flexibility and accessibility.
