Job Opportunity: Quality Inspector (Permanent) Location: Christchurch, Dorset A well-established aerospace manufacturer based in Christchurch is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join its growing Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in aerospace or other regulated industries to contribute to high-profile aerospace programmes. About the Role As a Quality Inspector, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring components and assemblies meet exacting aerospace standards. You’ll be responsible for detailed inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance and traceability. Key Responsibilities * Conduct in-process, final, and first article inspections to ensure conformance to engineering drawings and customer specifications * Support the creation and review of FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) and APQP documentation * Maintain accurate and traceable inspection records in digital formats * Use a range of manual and digital inspection tools to carry out dimensional and visual checks * Collaborate on NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action activities using 5-Why, Fishbone, or 8D methodologies * Support continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function * Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards and procedures ✅ What We’re Looking For * Minimum of 3 years' experience in quality inspection within the aerospace or another regulated industry * Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and 3D models * Familiar with FAIRs, APQP, control plans, MSA, and SPC * Skilled in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM/Faro Arm (advantageous) * Strong attention to detail, traceability, and commitment to accurate digital record-keeping * Good IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) * Hands-on experience with non-conformance management and root cause analysis tools (5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, 8D) Working Hours * Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm * Friday: 7:00am – 12:00 noon (Early Finish!)
