HR Assistant – Fixed Term (18 Months) – Portsmouth, UK
TC Group is the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK, offering bespoke support to ambitious business owners. We are looking for an HR Assistant to cover maternity leave on an 18‑month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage new starter and leaver processes, updating monthly payroll documentation and checking payslips.
* Monitor sickness records and manage contractual changes for 500+ staff.
* Maintain employee database and support Head of HR and HR Manager with projects.
* Process contractual and payroll information with speed, accuracy and excellent service.
* Deliver full HR administration responsibility for a full region, taking individual responsibility for delivering services to Partners and Senior Managers.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in HR or payroll (advantageous). Experience in an administrative role in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent IT skills and great attention to detail.
* Hardworking self‑starter with strong willingness to learn and grow.
* Ability to pick up new concepts quickly and change priorities quickly.
* Confidence with formatting documentation and numbers.
* Ability to work independently and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
* A team player with a positive ‘can‑do’ attitude and efficient, personable communication.
