We are currently recruiting for a temporary part-time Library Assistant on behalf of our public sector client based in Cushendall. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a respected public body. Immediate start
📅 Working Hours:
Tuesday 1.30pm -8pm
Thursday 10am-5pm
Saturday 10am-5pm
💰 Pay Rates:
1. Standard hourly rate: £13.21
2. Saturday rate: £19.82
📝 Key Responsibilities:
3. Assist clients with queries using both print and electronic resources
4. Register new clients and explain library services, rules, and regulations
5. Deliver services that support the learning, information, leisure, and cultural needs of the local community
6. Assist with the routine delivery of the programme of promotional activities to include school class visits, story time, user education events, special initiatives etc.
✅ Essential Criteria:
7. Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (Grade C or equivalent)
8. At least 1 year’s experience providing face-to-face service to the public
9. Experience working with young children and elderly people
10. Proficient in using ICT to access, select, and use information
