About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Research Finance Assistant to join the Research Finance team.
Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of externally funded research and research‑related projects from acceptance to closure, identifying and maintaining action plans to address project issues.
* Ensure the completeness and accuracy of claims and invoices.
* Work independently and without direct supervision for the majority of the time.
Qualifications
• Hold a relevant practical accounting qualification such as AAT.
• Be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced level), with the ability to use pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, IFS, and conditional formatting.
• Demonstrate an excellent customer‑service ethos, building strong working relationships with stakeholders, particularly within academic departments, through close communication and information sharing.

Flexible Working
We consider applications for part‑time or other flexible working arrangements (e.g., job share). The role is campus‑based, but staff can work remotely under the Finance Office’s hybrid policy (maximum of 40% of time or 2 days per week) subject to review and operational requirements. Initial induction requires 100% office presence.
