Data Engineer & Customer Support Associate Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear Contract Competitive Data Engineer & Customer Support Associate 12-Month Contract Job Summary: The Data Engineer & Customer Support Associate will support the sales function and help ensure that data and dashboards are accurate, reliable, and impactful. The scope of this work is a blend of preparing sales toolkits and ensuring that data and dashboards are of a high standard. You will be crucial in highlighting platform value to users and ensuring data is accurate and impactful. This role will focus on building competitor sets for online businesses, mapping product taxonomies, running structured QA, and surfacing insights that drive action for affiliate managers and marketing teams. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Newcastle, UK. Candidates will be required to work in the office 1 day a week. What Youll Be Doing: Sales Toolkit Preparation: Craft and customise technical demos, presentations, and product simulations for the sales team. Define competitor sets, product categories, and product keyword frameworks. Content Management: Keep all pre-sales materials organised, current, and easily accessible. Technical Support: Be the go-to person for the sales teams product-related questions and technical issues during the sales cycle. Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to stay updated and translate that information into compelling sales assets. Process Improvement - Sales: Find ways to make the pre-sales process smoother, especially with AI tools, and improve overall efficiency. Collaborate with technical teams to automate manual processes and accelerate dashboard setup. Data Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor data sources to ensure accuracy and completeness for affiliate performance. Analyse trends to identify areas for improvement and optimisation. Insight Generation: Use dashboards to identify and communicate growth opportunities, including conversion share trends, coverage gaps, net-new partners, optimisation opportunities, and link auditing. Quality Assurance: Regularly check dashboards for data accuracy, integrity, and consistency. Fix any discrepancies or errors quickly. Alert Management: Handle dashboard alerts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Prioritise alerts based on user needs and preferences. Process Improvement - Data: Identify opportunities to streamline data monitoring, quality assurance, and alert management. Implement best practices. Client Satisfaction: Work with internal teams to address feedback and ensure dashboards meet expectations. Proactively communicate with users to understand their needs regarding dashboard functionality. What Youll Bring: Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with technology and a quick learner, especially with AI-driven platforms. Experience with dashboards, category building, or BI/analytics. Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Slides. SQL is a plus. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret raw data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions. Attention to Detail: Exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous approach to preparing and reviewing technical and data materials. Strong attention to detail and pride in catching even the smallest errors. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into simple, user-friendly language. Collaboration: A proactive, resourceful team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Solution-Oriented Mindset: You do not just flag problems; you come prepared with ideas on how to solve them. Self-Starter: You can navigate ambiguity and chart a path forward without needing step-by-step instructions. Experience - Plus: Prior experience in customer success, customer support, or management consulting, ideally within a sales, technology, or software company, is a bonus.
