Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) provides community-based healthcare services across the East of England with a value driven approach that is innovative, caring and agile. HCT's Community and School Aged Immunisation Service (CSAIS) works together with other stakeholders to identify eligible individuals and provide immunisations in community and school settings, as well as providing dynamic responses to disease outbreaks wherever required.
The BCG/Hep B senior specialist immunisation practitioner is a vaccinating and leadership role within the community & school aged immunisation team.
The role requires experience of delivering BCG vaccinations in addition to other routine vaccinations.
* Lead the local area team in the delivery of the BCG and Hepatitis B immunisation programmes. To support the local CSAIS team with other programmes, when required.
* To feed into service evaluations and service improvements, growing the service based on the needs to the local populations, to include other clinic based vaccination programmes, such as the under 5s.
* To work collaboratively with the Immunisation teams to provide a service which meets the KPIs and expectations of the commissioners.
* To work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all sections of the local community, ensuring that services are targeted to the most vulnerable groups and individuals to support social inclusion.
