Their Northamptonshire -based team plays a central role in delivering expert accounts and tax services across Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.
The Job Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team advising rural clients. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, delivering strategic accounting and tax solutions, and supporting the development of junior staff. This is a hands-on management role suited to a qualified professional with experience in a practice environment and a strong interest in rural or agricultural sectors.
Location: Kettering
Salary Package: £45,000 to £65,000 + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of rural and property-focused clients across accounts and tax work
* Reviewing and finalising accounts and tax returns for a variety of structures (corporate and unincorporated)
* Delivering high-quality client service and building strong day-to-day client relationships
* Identifying tax planning and business advisory opportunities, including VAT and NIC issues
* Supporting partners with specialist assignments and advisory projects
Overseeing workflow, deadlines, and billing to ensure efficiency and profitability
* Delegating effectively to junior staff, conducting appraisals, and delivering feedback and coaching
* Ensuring compliance with deadlines including company accounts, tax returns, and P11Ds
* Contributing to departmental planning and helping shape the strategy of the Agriculture & Property division
Candidate Requirements:
* ACA, ACCA, CTA qualified (or equivalent experience) - essential
* At least 3 years' experience in an accounts and tax role within a practice setting - essential
* Prior experience managing rural or agricultural clients - desirable
* Previous experience at manager level in a professional services environment - desirable
* Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax legislation
* Confident in reviewing and completing accounts files and personal tax returns
