About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will ensure that students remain on task, manage classroom behaviour, and facilitate the delivery of pre-prepared lessons. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in an educational setting and make a positive impact on student learning.
* Supervising students in the classroom during the absence of their regular teacher.
* Delivering pre-set lessons and ensuring students understand the tasks.
* Managing classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
* Responding to students' questions and providing support as needed.
* Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.
* Following school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.
* Working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience of working with children or young people in a group setting (e.g., schools, youth clubs, sports coaching).
* Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
* Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is able to follow instructions and work independently.
* Is reliable, punctual, and committed to the role.
* Has a calm and professional manner.
* Has a good understanding of safeguarding principles.
* A relevant qualification or degree (e.g., L3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
