AML Analyst - Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £30k - £34k per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office / 2 days from home

About the Role:
My client is looking for an experienced and detail-focused AML Analyst to join their compliance team in Edinburgh. In this key role, you'll help implement compliance strategies ensuring client and internal onboarding meets all AML and CDD requirements.
You'll be responsible for analysing high-risk factors, advising on enhanced due diligence, conducting sanctions checks, and ensuring that the firm operates in full compliance with AML regulations.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out AML and CDD checks on all new client and matter instructions.
* Assess high-risk factors such as PEP involvement, complex structures, and high-risk jurisdictions.
* Advise Partners and fee earners on AML best practice, ongoing monitoring, and due diligence requirements.
* Analyse and report on sanctions notifications.
* Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) under the supervision of the Compliance Manager and MLRO.
* Review client funds and risk assessments, maintaining accurate internal records.
* Assist with compliance audits and contribute to continuous improvement of AML procedures.

About You
* Previous experience in a similar AML or compliance role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
* Strong understanding of financial crime compliance, data protection, and anti-bribery processes.
* Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Confident communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
* Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory governance.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
