Teaching Assistant Job – Chorley
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chorley, starting in September 2026. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term stability and the chance to become a valued member of a supportive school team.
This role will involve working as a general classroom assistant, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils, particularly those with SEND
* Assist in creating an inclusive, engaging, and positive learning environment
* Help manage behaviour effectively and promote positive relationships
* Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
* Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to monitor pupil progress
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting
* Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with SEND
* A proactive, patient, and supportive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential
