Job Description: IT Technician
Our client, a well-established retail packaging manufacturer employing over 100 personnel across design, administration, and manufacturing departments, is seeking an IT Technician. The technician will be part of the Group's IT Department, focusing on systems management, functional analysis, and small software development.

Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain IT systems, ensuring availability and security.
* Prevent, detect, and resolve system malfunctions.
* Perform backups using Veeam Backup.
* Install, configure, and maintain servers and virtualized systems in VMware.
* Implement and manage software and hardware updates.
* Manage Windows Server, including Active Directory, GPO, file servers, DNS, DHCP, and network services.
* Monitor and troubleshoot Windows environments.
* Operate Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
* Administer Microsoft Exchange and Azure environments.
* Maintain Linux systems, ensuring security and proper configuration.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
* Develop and maintain small internal software applications.
* Provide user support and troubleshooting.
* Manage IT equipment procurement and liaise with third-party vendors.
* Monitor performance against SLAs and implement improvements.
* Collaborate with management to identify process improvements using technology.
* Manage access controls to files and applications securely.
Skills and Attributes
* Experience with VMware, Veeam Backup, and Windows Server.
* Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
* Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Azure, and Linux systems.
* Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Develop and maintain small internal applications.
* Experience in packaging sector is desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Proactive, responsible, flexible, with high integrity.
* Experience with ERP systems like Shuttleworth and SAGE.
* Knowledge of SAP R/3 and ESKO software is desirable.
* Experience with iQuote (ePS) software is desirable.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies and documentation is desirable.
