We are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst!
We have an exciting new opportunity within the Treasury team!
To support the effective management of credit risk across the building society's lending portfolio, with a particular focus on mortgage lending. The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will lead in analysing credit risk exposures, developing monitoring reports, developing Policies, and supporting stress testing and regulatory submissions with assistance from other team members.
Training and support is available for the induvial wanting to develop their skills and experience.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Credit Risk Monitoring & Reporting
Maintain, monitor and report the performance of the mortgage portfolio (e.g. arrears, LTV, affordability metrics).
Maintain, run and explain the Credit Risk Model, liaising with third-party specialists as appropriate.
Contribute to the design and refinement of risk dashboards and MI packs.
Lead on the production of monthly and quarterly credit risk reports for Risk Committees and senior management.
Oversee the mortgage arrears management process, including training & competence, process effectiveness and policy compliance.
Assess and monitor counter-party risk.Policy & Framework Support
Lead the review and update of the Credit Risk Policy and Lending Criteria.
Lead on the annual credit risk appetite calibration and metric monitoring.
Maintain model documentation and control frameworks.Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis
Support the development of credit stress test models for ICAAP, Recovery Planning, and Board reporting.
Work with Finance and Treasury teams to assess impacts under macroeconomic and idiosyncratic scenarios.Data & Analysis
Conduct data analysis using Excel and/or analytics tools (e.g., R, SAS, SQL, Power BI).
Ensure data quality by supporting data cleansing and validation processes.
Help identify portfolio trends, concentrations, or emerging risks.Regulatory Engagement
Support regulatory deliverables such as PRA data requests, ICAAP preparation, and Board papers.
Lead on preparation for Internal Audit and External Audit reviews associated with Credit Risk.What we're looking for:
Essential
Degree in a numerate, finance, or economics-related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong Excel and data manipulation skills
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills allied with strong stakeholder management skills
Team player with willingness to learn and develop
Basic understanding of statistical tools (R)
Desirable
Experience in a financial services or regulated environment (e.g. building society, bank)
Knowledge of credit risk concepts, especially related to mortgage lending
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., ICAAP, PRA SS11/13)
Basic understanding of statistical tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, Power BI)
