Overview
As a Residential Child Care Worker you will work from a children's home where children and young people aged 11-17 live. You will eat, sleep and perform basic household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping while providing 1:1 support to help them manage feelings, emotions and behaviours. You will collaborate with social workers, schools, police and health workers to meet the children’s needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily care and supervision of children aged 11-17.
* Eat, sleep and conduct household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
* Support children with 1:1 work on feelings, emotions and behaviours.
* Collaborate with professionals (social workers, schools, police, health workers) to meet children’s needs.
* Provide care during short-term placements at the Pause & Reflect Home.
Qualifications and Personal Qualities
* Passion for supporting children’s aspirations.
* Enthusiasm and dedication to go the extra mile.
* Team player and forward‑thinking attitude.
* Desirable: driver’s licence and vehicle for SPACE Hubs (not required for Pause & Reflect Home).
Additional Requirements
* Must carry out a DBS check.
* Must provide a car for use in duties and be insured for business use (consideration for non‑drivers with disabilities).
