This approach has resulted in an exceptionally high repeat business rate of around 85%.The consultancy operates within a wider group following a recent strategic partnership, expanding its service offering to include Project Monitoring and Building Surveying, and supporting continued, sustainable growth.One of the biggest differentiators is the working culture: the business operates a genuinely flexible, trust‑based model, with engineers primarily working from home and attending the office only once every 4–6 weeks on average.Your new roleAs an Intermediate to Associate Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of electrical building services designs across a varied national project portfolio.
At Intermediate level, you will support the design process and continue to develop technically, working closely with Senior Engineers and Directors. At Associate level, you will take greater ownership of projects, support client relationships, and contribute to the technical leadership of schemes.You will be involved in projects from early concept through to detailed design and construction, gaining full lifecycle exposure.Projects include large‑scale leisure and destination developments, alongsidemercial, mixed‑use and public‑sector work—typically repeat‑client schemes offering strong continuity and technical depth rather than one‑off projects.This role suits an engineer looking to progress within a supportive, low‑bureaucracy consultancy environment, with clear scope to step into more senior responsibility over time.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a building services consultancy
2. A strong understanding of building services electrical design principles
3. Knowledge of relevant British Standards, regulations and industry best practice
4. Ability to work autonomously within a remote‑first environment while collaborating effectively with a wider team
5. Strongmunication skills and a professional approach with clients and project teams
6. Working towards, or already achieved, Chartered status (CIBSE / IET) – particularly desirable at Associate level
7. For Associate level candidates: experience leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and client-facing responsibility
