Detailed job description

and main responsibilities
1. General administration duties for the Complementary Therapists, Counselling/Psychology Service and Lymphoedema teams.
2. Booking appointments/clinic management
3. Sending out appointment letters & correspondence
4. Monitoring email inboxes and voicemails
5. Taking telephone messages (some patients may be upset)
6. Data entry/collating statistic

Qualifications

Essential criteria

7. Good General Education covering literacy and numeracy
8. GCSE in English or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria

9. Experience of using common IT software such as Microsoft Office
10. Evidence of organisational skills

Desirable criteria

11. Previous knowledge of hospital IT systems
12. Previous experience in office environment

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential criteria

13. Good keyboard skills
14. Be able to organise own workload and priorities
15. Excellent communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels in a courteous, approachable and helpful manner
16. Able to interact and communicate with a variety of people including work colleagues, consultants and service users
17. Able to work under supervision and as part of a team.
18. Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries

19. Understand the importance of quality at all levels of our work.
20. Happy to work in a busy environment

Knowledge

21. Be willing to undergo further training, according to the needs of the job and as part of personal development.
