Based in Manchester, you’ll be part of a friendly and forward-thinking studio, working on a range of projects with real scope for progression. Key Responsibilities
Develop project briefs into considered design solutions aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work, working with a high degree of autonomy
Contribute to the coordination and delivery of pre-construction information across project stages
Produce efficient, sustainable and buildable design solutions
Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice
Advise on material selection, considering performance, cost, and environmental impact
Prepare detailed technical specifications using NBS, supported by up-to-date manufacturer information
Support design development in line with project budgets, including value engineering where required
Participate in project reviews, coordination meetings and workshops
Assist in preparing and submitting planning, building regulations and building safety documentation
Liaise with statutory authorities and contribute to reports and submissions
Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist teams
Support the management of design risks and maintain accurate project documentation
Assist during construction stages, including troubleshooting design-related issues Skills & Experience
Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III) with ARB registration
Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice
Strong technical knowledge, including construction detailing and UK regulatory requirements
Experience in the education sector (desirable, not essential)
Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within a consultancy environment
Proficiency in design and visualisation tools such as Sketch Up and Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM experience preferred) Benefits
