Job Description

We are seeking Service Engineers to uphold the operational functionality and presentation of Wernick Power Solutions (WPS) equipment, including generators, diesel tanks, distribution systems, cabling, and associated ancillaries. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will conduct routine inspections, testing, servicing, attend breakdowns and repairs, and perform installation and commissioning tasks while maintaining our high standards of customer service, safety, and quality.

Key responsibilities include:

* Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
* Achieve optimum, yet safe productivity levels with designated workload.
* Manage all transactional elements of the role such as breakdowns, services, PDI’s, determining damage, and timesheets.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
* Provide safety observations for any unsafe practice in the depot or on a customer site.
* Keep overdue servicing below 6% of total fleet in your designated area.
* Maintain all training and competencies via the PDP skills matrix.
* Provide support outside normal job role as and when required for the Depot and Service Manager.
* Ensure the company vehicle is kept in good condition and stocked with appropriate tools, oils, consumables, and safety equipment.
* Seek time to self‑develop through training platforms, online learning hubs and structured training sessions.
* Provide support for colleagues as and when required.
* Maintain depot and engineering standards.

You will be on call on a rota basis and will receive additional pay for being on call and paid for any call outs you do.


Essential Criteria

* Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the scope of equipment.
* Adequate skills for performing competent maintenance routines, whether in field service or depot‑based roles.
* In‑depth skills for competent fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing of the defined equipment type.
* Experience with generator engines – essential; applications without this experience will not be considered.


Desirable Criteria

* Hold a C&G, NVQ, or other recognised professional or vocational qualifications in the relevant technical discipline.
* In‑depth experience in multiple technical disciplines, such as mechanical and electrical.
* Hands‑on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel‑driven generators.

Salary: Based on experience.
