In this role you’ll take a friendly and supportive role for patients during mealtimes. You’ll deliver meals to patients, interacting with them and their visitors, and making sure they have everything they need to make the most of their mealtime experience. High quality food and drinks are an important home comfort to our patients, and essential fuel for our hardworking staff.

Activities in this role will usually include:
· Delivering meals and drinks to patients
· Offering refreshments and snacks to patients and visitors
· Making sure patients have a clean space to eat their meal
· Socialising/chatting with patients and their families during refreshment and mealtimes
· Clearing dishes away at the end of the meal
· Taking food and drink orders
· Setting up and clearing dining areas and food preparation areas
· Assisting with washing up and loading/unloading the dishwasher
· Stock taking and organising the ward kitchen area
· Replenishing the lounge drinks machine and snacks area
· Reporting any issues or feedback to the nursing or kitchen team
This role does not include any patient care or assisting patients to eat their meals.
We hope you’ll volunteer 3 - 6 hours a week, but all our roles are flexible to suit you.
