NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Tuesday/Wednesday 9:15 am‑3:30 pm and Friday 9:30 am‑3:30 pm (can be flexible).

Medical Secretary required to support consultants, nurses and pharmacists in a very busy Diabetes/Endocrinology Department. Excellent organisational and keyboard skills required. Trakcare and Winscribe experience are essential. Knowledge of the SCI Diabetes Database would be an advantage.

Secretarial experience is preferred. Must have a pleasant telephone manner and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities include making appointments, managing discharge lists, managing waiting lists, typing clinic letters and reports, and managing consultant clinics. Must be able to make decisions and prioritise workload.

Please note the salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.

Please be advised that, effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
