Job Title: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Manchester, UK
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (4 Days / 4 Nights)
Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly capable Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced, regulated FMCG manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual with proven expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance to contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of our production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
Diagnose and fault find on electrical systems, including Allen Bradley PLCs
Read and interpret electrical drawings, troubleshoot electrical issues under pressure, and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Perform mechanical maintenance tasks such as replacing bearings, stripping down motors, and repairing conveyor systems.
Work efficiently to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency across all departments.
Support colleagues by providing holiday cover as needed and be open to overtime opportunities .
Ensure full compliance with GMP standards and UK electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
Maintain accurate records of all work completed and ensure clear communication with the wider team.
Requirements:
Strong background in electrical engineering with a proven track record in a manufacturing environment
Experience with PLC fault-finding, ideally Allen Bradley
Confident in performing mechanical repairs and general mechanical maintenance.
Experience working in a regulated FMCG, Food or Pharma environment .
UK work experience and knowledge of UK compliance standards is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
A team player with excellent communication skills and flexibility to support shift coverage.
Desirable:
FMCG sector experience will be a significant advantage.
Familiarity with tablet-based diagnostic tools for Allen Bradley equipment.
