Key Responsibilities of a Disability Support Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and group support tailored to individual learning and care needs.
* Assist in the delivery of vocational and life skills programmes.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals.
* Support students during community-based learning and work placements.
* Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to meet evolving needs.
Candidate Requirements for Disability Support Assistant:
* Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or additional needs is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to support.
* A valid UK driving license and willingness to drive as part of the role.
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
To work with GSL Education, you must:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Provide an up-to-date CV with two references from the last two years.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child/vulnerable adult protection.
