Role: Deputy Home Manager

Hours: 40 Hours per week
Salary: £33,321.00 per annum
Southlands School is an Ofsted-registered co-education specialist day and residential school with a registered children’s home. We provide education and care, supported by our multi-disciplinary clinical team, for children and young people aged 7-19 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism or whose profile of need can be successfully supported by the use of autism specialist strategies.
We are now recruiting for an experienced Deputy Home Manager to not only deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager but to also support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.

Person Specification:
Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy
NVQ 3 in caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
Working towards NVQ4
Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues
Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
Team Building Skills
Supervision Skills
Ability to manage teams effectively
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Understanding the needs of BESD children including managing challenging behaviour
In depth knowledge of ‘Every Child Matters
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to motivate and enthuse staff
