The Role We’re seeking a commercially astute and proactive Business Development Manager to help expand our presence in the UK market. This includes confidently engaging prospects via cold calling, email outreach, and networking. · Technical & Consultative Selling – Understand customer challenges and provide tailored recommendations, including guidance on packaging performance, recyclability, and regulatory compliance (e.g. EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax) · Relationship Building – Build long-term, trusted partnerships with new customers through virtual channels and in-person meetings · Strategic Prospecting – Use insight, research, and market intelligence to prioritise high-value leads · CRM & Pipeline Reporting – Maintain accurate activity records and contribute to forecasting and commercial planning · Collaborative Working – Partner with internal teams including technical, R&D, and sustainability to deliver value-driven, compliant solutions · Industry Engagement – Represent SIVA at key trade shows or events where relevant to your sector focus What You’ll Bring · 2–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management – ideally in flexible packaging · A working knowledge of sustainability challenges and relevant regulations such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and material compliance · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to drive your own pipeline · Commercially minded with strong organisational and CRM skills · Ability to simplify technical concepts and sell solutions based on value · Collaborative and adaptable, with a customer-first mindset · Understanding of flexible packaging, substrates, or material science is highly beneficial Final Note We’re driven by innovation, purpose, and performance.
