We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Infrastructure Project Manager to join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew, which features a state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer, yoga classes, as well as the Beeks Bar and weekly masseuse to help you unwind!
About the Role
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver IT infrastructure projects. They oversee all aspects from planning to implementation and maintenance, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The role involves optimizing IT infrastructure, such as hardware installation or upgrades and HW migrations within a data centre environment, which is more complex than general IT project management.
Key Responsibilities
* Convert project requirements into comprehensive end-to-end project plans to ensure successful delivery.
* Align project demand with resource availability using industry-standard project management tools.
* Lead and schedule global customer-facing meetings to report on project progress, considering time zone differences.
* Identify critical path activities and dependencies to optimize timelines.
* Allocate resources efficiently, including forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
* Create resource planning schedules to highlight constraints and utilization.
* Generate project risk documentation related to budget, hardware delays, scope changes, technical risks, skill gaps, bottlenecks, and resource overutilization.
* Communicate risks and potential impacts to the Head of Project Management proactively.
* Improve project planning and milestone tracking to meet deadlines.
* Monitor project scope and financials to prevent profit dilution and ensure budget adherence.
* Support contract performance reviews, assessing resource utilization against commitments.
* Produce lessons learned documentation to promote continuous improvement and innovation.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience managing end-to-end project deliveries, including planning and resource scheduling in a PMO environment, with requirements validation.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project, risk management, and resource planning tools.
* Proven ability to manage resources effectively, ensuring demand-capacity alignment.
* Experience managing project budgets and financial control.
* Experience delivering IT infrastructure projects from start to finish.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile and PRINCE2.
* Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in infrastructure projects related to low-latency financial technology or cloud services.
* PMP and PRINCE2 certifications.
