We're looking for a meticulous, charismatic Hotel & Events Manager to take the reins of daily operations at our 23-bedroom boutique hotel and Boot Factory events space in Bristol. This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role where precision meets personality: someone who thrives on structure, presentation, and detail, while also bringing warmth and flair to guest experiences and events.
What you'll do
* Lead the day-to-day hotel operation: oversee reservations, cash-ups, overdue invoices, maintenance, housekeeping standards, and breakfast/daytime service for guests and locals.
* Ensure everything runs with polish and calm efficiency – from immaculate rooms and elegant presentation to smooth systems and well-communicated rotas.
* Take ownership of the events side of the business: liaising with clients, managing pre-orders and logistics, and running weddings, gatherings, and celebrations with style and ease.
* Work closely with the Restaurant & Bar Manager and Head Chef to deliver seamless hotel stays, memorable events, and a buzzing neighbourhood hub.
* Be as comfortable behind the desk or on the floor making coffee as you are handling figures, budgets, and back-office tasks.
* Recruit, train, and motivate a skilled team; lead by example and step in on evening shifts where needed to oversee events or service.
Who you are
* Super organised with a "speedy brain": you thrive on systems, structure, and order, but can also think quickly and calmly under pressure.
* A polished operator with high standards for presentation, cleanliness, and guest experience.
* Naturally warm and hospitable, with a flair for hosting and a softer sales touch – making people feel cared for while maximising revenue opportunities.
* Experienced in hotel operations and events management, ideally in boutique or lifestyle settings.
* Flexible and adaptable, able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends when events require it.
* Financially and operationally astute, comfortable with budgets, invoicing, and reporting.
What we offer
* Competitive salary (£35,000–£40,000 depending on experience) plus share of tips.
* A creative, independent environment where individuality is valued and hard work rewarded.
* Collaboration with a supportive management team and the chance to shape the future of the hotel and events business.
* Staff meals, discounts, and opportunities for progression within our growing group.
If you're a detail-driven operator with charm, calm authority, and a passion for delivering both seamless stays and unforgettable events, we'd love to hear from you.
