Job Summary
The Commodity Manager is responsible for managing all procurement expenditure and product-related services, including developing strategic relationships with existing and future suppliers. The role involves ensuring requirements are met on time and in accordance with quality standards, delivering a capable and cost-effective supply base. The focus is on developing and implementing the Commodity SCM Strategy, leading the commodity management teams, and aligning strategies with site and program needs.
The Commodity Manager will oversee commodity management products and services globally for all operating sites, operating at a senior level with high autonomy. The role includes managing, mentoring, and developing the commodity management team, delivering cost-effective solutions, and leading projects across GKN Aerospace.

Job Responsibilities
* Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to commodities, including cost savings, quality, supplier rationalization, and low-cost sourcing.
* Lead commodity resourcing activities in coordination with other departments to gain competitive advantage.
* Develop and steer category strategies for relevant commodities.
* Support and develop procurement staff within the commodity teams.
* Assist in Make or Buy decisions and prepare data for commodity reviews.
* Support supply base rationalization and supplier development efforts.
* Leverage synergies across the GKN global network.
* Improve program profitability through continuous improvement and smart sourcing strategies.
* Ensure timely, quality supply of products and services aligned with business plans and targets.
* Partner with the Procurement Emerging Markets team to meet customer expectations.
* Negotiate contracts focusing on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance.
* Manage contracts through regular reviews to ensure performance.
* Handle conflicts arising from non-performance, ensuring GKN is protected.
* Own strategic relationships with key suppliers and conduct regular reviews.
* Plan for succession within the global commodity network.
* Manage budgets related to procurement activities.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
* At least 8 years of Category Management / Commodity experience.
* Minimum 3 years in the aerospace industry.
