Job Specification Position: Maintenance Engineer with Welding Experience (Mechanical bias / Electrical bias) Location: Angus, Scotland Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per year (depending on experience) Job Type: Full Time Company Overview A leading Scottish food manufacturer producing a wide range of quality ready meals and traditional dishes for the UK market is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer with welding experience to join their dedicated maintenance team. Established for over 40 years, the business is known for its commitment to high-quality products, efficiency, and strong team culture. Role Overview The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance across the production facilities. Welding expertise is essential, enabling the successful candidate to repair, fabricate, and modify components to ensure production efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment to minimise downtime. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults efficiently. Carry out welding repairs on various materials (steel, aluminium) using MIG, TIG, and Stick techniques. Fabricate new parts and modify existing equipment to enhance performance or resolve faults. Collaborate with production teams to plan maintenance and repairs with minimal disruption. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage. Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and company procedures. Requirements Qualifications & Skills Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure. Self-motivated, with a strong focus on quality and safety. Experience with PLC systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics is advantageous. Benefits Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package.
