Psychologist – Learning Disabilities & Complex Care | Dundee
Pulse is working with a specialist inpatient provider in Dundee to recruit an experienced Psychologist to support adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and complex presentations. This is a part‑time locum opportunity (3 days per week) within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, offering excellent clinical exposure and flexible working.
The role is due to start mid‑March 2026 and will continue until a permanent appointment is made, making it ideal if you're looking for stability without long‑term commitment. Attractive rates are available, and the service is based in Dundee.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder
* Work with individuals presenting with complex needs and behaviours that challenge
* Contribute to care planning and risk management using evidence‑based approaches
* Work collaboratively within a full MDT including psychiatry, nursing and therapy colleagues
* Support positive behaviour support planning and trauma‑informed care
* Contribute to reports, reviews and clinical discussions, ensuring high standards of care
You'll have the autonomy to shape your clinical input while being fully supported by an experienced team around you.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential / Minimum:
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
* Experience working with learning disabilities
* Experience supporting individuals with complex presentations and/or autistic spectrum disorder
Desirable (but not essential):
* Inpatient or high‑dependency setting experience
* Experience with positive behaviour support or trauma‑informed approaches
