To strengthen our Dynamic Positioning System Support team, we now seek motivated engineers who are interested in working in an exciting, hectic, and demanding international environment as Service Engineer - Dynamic Positioning Software.
Vessels around the world use Dynamic Positioning (DP) to maintain position at sea using propellers and thrusters. This technology enables offshore operations without anchoring or mooring lines and plays a crucial role in today’s high-tech offshore environment. You will be part of the division Global Customer Support, responsible for all Kongsberg Maritime’s service and support in the aftermarket. You will have the opportunity to work on systems installed on vessels worldwide, with a primary focus on the K-Pos DP system.
Key accountabilities
1. Providing software service and support for our Dynamic Positioning systems.
2. Managing software upgrade projects, configurations, and modifications.
3. Implementation, testing, and verification both in office and onboard vessels globally.
4. Performing planned and on-call system support jobs.
Qualifications and experience
1. Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Cybernetics, Control Engineering, Automation, Marine, Computer Science, or related fields.
2. Knowledge of C/C++ is beneficial.
3. Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
4. Meeting health requirements for offshore work.
5. Willingness for worldwide travel and onboard support activities (100-150 days annually).
6. Able to travel on short notice.
