Job Description

At Bluebird Care Lymington, we provide high-quality, compassionate care to elderly and vulnerable people, helping them remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. We’re growing our dedicated team and currently seeking Health Care Assistants to support customers across New Forest regions such as Lymington, New Milton, Sway, Brockenhurst, Hythe, and Waterside.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

* Supporting with personal care and daily routines
* Providing companionship and emotional reassurance
* Effectively communicating with individuals of different communication needs or backgrounds
* Problem solving and learning how to safely support individuals while working in line with legislations, regulations, policies, and risk assessments
* Learning how to implement good nutrition and hydration alongside training in food hygiene standards and infection prevention control
* Understanding signs of abuse, safeguarding yourself and customers, and reporting procedures
* Learning about whistleblowing procedures if concerns are not being addressed
* Safely handling and administering medication, including disposal
* Dealing with challenging situations and positive behaviour support, including autism and learning disabilities
* Working effectively in a team and communicating with colleagues, including lone working scenarios

Training

Paragon Skills is a leading national Apprenticeship training provider, supporting over 4,000 learners and 1,500 organisations. Paragon Skills has high success and achievement rates, with an Ofsted Grade 2 rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Learners are supported through a blended approach, with regular check-ins, emails, and calls from a dedicated Personal Tutor. Your employer will allocate 20% of your working hours for study, maximizing your chances of success. Upon completing this 12-month apprenticeship, you will earn an Adult Care Worker – Level 2 Apprenticeship.


Prospects

Possibility of securing a full-time role after completing the apprenticeship.
